"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him." (Colossians 1:15-16).

There are different opinions on how to understand God's character. Some people believe that the Bible is the primary source of this knowledge, while others argue that we should get to know Jesus through scripture and follow him to understand God better.

Today's reading of Colossians 1:15-16 is a powerful statement highlighting Christ's supremacy. It declares that Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation and that all things have been created through Him and for Him. In other words, everything in heaven and on earth was created by Christ and for His glory (John 1:1-2).

As believers, we are called to reflect the image of Christ in our lives. We are invited to imitate Him in everything we do, to love as He loved, and to serve as He served. Christ is our example, and we are called to follow in His footsteps.

Christ is the source of all things. In our daily lives, we can draw strength and inspiration from Him. We can turn to Him for guidance and support when we face difficulties or challenges. We can also find comfort in knowing that everything we do is ultimately for His glory.

The passage encourages us to focus on Christ and to make Him the center of our lives. We are reminded that we were created by Him and for Him and that our purpose in life is to serve Him. We can do this by living a life of obedience to His commandments, by loving our neighbors as ourselves, and by seeking to bring glory to His name in everything we do.

Colossians 1:15-16 is a powerful way to convey the supremacy of Christ and our role as believers in reflecting His image through our daily lives. Live a life that brings glory to Him and serves His purposes, knowing that everything we do is ultimately for His glory.
