"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you" (1 Peter 5:10).

Today's devotional verse reminds us to persevere through our current struggles. As Peter wrote, our suffering is temporary, and God will ultimately strengthen and restore us. We are called to eternal glory through Christ. Living in an unstable world makes us think about how the future might turn out for posterity.

Global crisis such as the war in Ukraine, coupled with a weak jobs market, stagnant economy, and threat to democratic stability, makes one foresee uncertainty and more significant conflict. Nevertheless, all that is happening today, though its shape and form of events might be different, previous centuries also experienced fear on a larger scale. Where do Christians find an anchor for their souls when these unending shakable moments remain to frighten us? Moreover, we are baffled by our own internal and external struggles: worry, fear, anxiety, relationships, family life, and the list goes on.

God has a way of reminding us with His particular revelation-the Bible. Apostle Peter tells us believers will suffer a little while to test their faith in the Lord. You may find it hard to get by with bills, rent, utility payments, and even insufficient money to buy groceries. But in the final analysis, believers will burst into effusive praise and honor to God. He always brings the good out of the bad. But the hope and trust we once reposed in God during troubling past times can still work in our current situations. The same God who helped you out of previous tough times is the same God who will come to your aid again.

While human efforts may find it challenging to bring good out of a bad situation, it is possible with the Lord to miraculously turn your situation around because of his magnificent power (Romans 5:28). The question remains whether you will keep on hoping and trusting him with your destiny?
