Let Your Life Speak

Let Your Life Speak
Devotion by Pastor Alexander L Redd

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.” (Matthew 5:11)

It is not that everyone who speaks against you is your enemy, and not every criticism should be ignored. Sometimes, God uses correction to make us wiser. Yet, there are moments when opposition rises simply because your obedience, growth, or courage makes others uncomfortable.

When people misunderstand you, do not surrender your peace. When they speak behind your back, keep walking faithfully before God. When someone tries to take advantage of your kindness, establish healthy boundaries without becoming bitter. When others attempt to pull you down, resist the temptation to prove that you are above them. Your calling is not to stand over people, but to remain humble before Christ.

Doubt from others does not cancel what God has placed within you. Criticism cannot destroy a purpose that God is developing in you. Even hatred cannot stop the work of grace in your life unless you allow resentment to take root in your heart.

Remember, Jesus was rejected, falsely accused, mocked, and misunderstood. Yet He did not answer hatred with hatred. He remained faithful to the Father.

So, do not call every critic a secret admirer, and do not treat every opponent as proof of your greatness. Listen for truth, reject malice, forgive freely, and keep moving in obedience. Your value is not determined by those who criticize you, envy you, applaud you, or refuse to clap.

Your worth was settled at the cross.

Walk humbly. Love boldly. Stay faithful. Let God defend what He has called.
