Heal Before You Hurt Others
Heal Before You Hurt Others

Jesus said, “Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?” (Matthew 7:3 NKJV).
That word reaches deep. Some people are always searching for cracks in others because they are trying to avoid the broken places within themselves. Criticizing somebody else can feel easier than facing our own pain, pride, insecurity, or disappointment.
But Christ Jesus calls us to a better way. Before we inspect another person’s life, He cautions us to examine our own hearts. David modeled this when he prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart” (Psalm 139:23). He did not ask God to expose everybody else first. He asked God to begin with him.
So today, choose healing over hiding. Choose self-examination over criticism. Choose grace over fault-finding. When Christ heals what is broken in us, we no longer need to tear others down to feel whole.
Let God search your heart, heal your wounds, and make your words a place where others can breathe.
