"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act." - Psalm 37:5
Imagine a sailor crossing a vast ocean, depending on the wind to guide their ship. This way forward can be risky, and it requires faith in God because the sailor cannot see the forces of nature that affect him. In the same way, we receive God’s guidance through the Holy Spirit.
Many of us want to hold on to our own plans and dreams. We think we need control over everything to find meaning and purpose in life. However, this often leads to doubt and anxiety, which makes it hard to find true peace. How do we find true peace?
In the Book of Acts, the apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit. They committed their lives to God’s plan, even when faced with challenges. Their faith in Jesus helped them make a positive impact on others every day.
The apostles did not let anything stop them because they believed God could change their lives and the world for the better. Resisting God can keep us from experiencing the fullness of life. It is like a sailor trying to sail while the ship spins in circles. Similarly, in life, we cannot make real progress until we let go of what is holding us back. So, take a deep breath and surrender everything to the Holy Spirit, who can guide you.
The Holy Spirit is our counselor. He encourages us to loosen our grip on what we think we need and to trust in God’s perfect plan. Surrendering does not mean we have to give up our dreams; it means aligning them with a bigger purpose. When we do this, we open ourselves to a peace that goes beyond understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Listen, my friend. Today, use prayer to embrace the power of the Holy Spirit. Identify the areas in your life where you’re holding back. Take steps toward your full potential. Allow His presence to fill those spaces with faith, helping you trust God completely. As you let go, you will see that God’s will is not only pleasing but also perfect. This will lead you to a life filled with joy and peace.
