Your Strength Grows Every time You Commit
Your Strength Grows Every Time You Commit
By Pastor Alexander L. Redd
"Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act." -Psalm 37:5
When you commit yourself to following God's path, you tap into a strength you didn't realize you had. This is not just about thinking positively—it's a spiritual truth found throughout the Bible.
Take Joshua, for example. He had the tough job of leading Israel after Moses. God told him clearly: "Be strong and brave. Don't be scared or worried, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9). Joshua's dedication to this mission unlocked a powerful strength that allowed him to lead confidently.
Ruth also showed us this idea through her strong commitment to Naomi: "Where you go, I will go; where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God" (Ruth 1:16). Because of her loyalty, she not only received help but also became part of Jesus' family line.
Daniel's commitment to praying and staying true to his beliefs, even when facing the lions, showed incredible strength. "But Daniel decided he would not make himself unclean" (Daniel 1:8). His strong commitment protected him.
Paul recognized this when he said, "I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13). His commitment to his mission helped him endure shipwrecks, jail time, and hardships.
Listen, my friend. What you commit to shows what matters most to you. When you dedicate yourself to God's ways—through prayer, reading His Word, and helping others—you open yourself to receive His strength. This is not about being perfect but about being persistent.
Today, renew your commitment to walk with God. Like these biblical figures, you'll find that your strength comes not from your skills but from the One you’ve chosen to follow, Christ Jesus.
