Liberia is currently rife with controversy over President George Weah's meeting with America's covert agency-CIA at Langley, Virginia, USA.

The reasons and outcomes for such an extraordinary meeting are still unclear. Moreover, the problem of corruption and a recent claim of an alleged plot to assassinate former associate justice Gloria Musu Scott and the subsequent murder of her daughter prompts fear and insecurity, especially when past politically-motivated deaths, ritualistic killings, a growing wave of community crimes, an influx of illicit drugs, and a lack of foreign investments create an environment of hopelessness.
