Why is there a Proposed Law for Religious Holidays in Liberia?

Liberia currently has no law recognizing holidays based on any religious beliefs. However, three senators have proposed a bill to officially recognize holidays for Christians and Muslims. This raises questions about the motivations behind the bill and whether it violates the government's mandated neutrality among religions as stated in Article 14 of the Constitution.
