Some of the deepest wounds inside the church were not caused by enemies. They were caused by well-meaning people who looked at a broken person and said the wrong thing at the worst possible moment.

Those words are not lies, but they were said at the wrong moment, directed at the wrong wound; those words came close to causing harm.

Today, we are going somewhere the church does not always like to go. Into the honest, uncomfortable, necessary conversation about trauma, pain, and what it actually looks like walking with someone who is suffering.
