What is God's purpose for instructing Christians to live in obedience to governing authorities? God desires to make life in human society orderly, and his Word encourages Christ's followers to obey civil commands.


On the other hand, civil authorities should be just and fair in punishing those who do wrong and rewarding those who do good.
