What You Can Do To influence Others by Alexander Redd
"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep his commandments." (Deuteronomy 7:9)
Most of us would admit that companies spend a lot of resources on social media platforms to influence the public. They put in time and money as a marketing strategy to capture people's imaginations about events and products. But none of what they do is much more critical than what believers in Christ Jesus should do.
Believers are to capture people's hearts with godly influence through the Gospel of Christ. We can impact others when we live as consistent witnesses in the eyes of all people. How do we equip ourselves to be effective influencers?
The first step is to stand firm with conviction about God's Word. Do you genuinely believe in God's Word and His character? We must believe the Bible and the Bible's practical reality in our daily lives. In today's devotional reading, God assures us that He is the sovereign God and faithful to His covenant of love toward us. Therefore, we must have a firm conviction about His Word as the foundation upon which we can stand to influence others.
Because of our willingness to live the way God had instructed us to impact others, we may experience uncomfortable situations in which the Gospel truth will cause derision from those we intend to influence. Nevertheless, we are to commit to believing in God's Word and trust His character. When our daily lives serve as an example of scriptural principles, people will see and decide to listen and believe in the content of the Gospel truth - Jesus Christ (Mark 1:1).
